Esto perpetua
(Latin "Let it be perpetual")
The words are traced back to the Venetian theologian and mathematician Paolo Sarpi (1552-1623). His last words were "Esto perpetua" reportedly in reference to the city of Venice.
It is also the motto of Idaho which became a state in 1890. It was on lodge member pins from 1874 until recent times.
